Spurs manager Juande Ramos has already secured the signing of Heurelho Gomes from PSV Eindhoven but, with Paul Robinson completing a £3.5 million switch to Blackburn Rovers earlier this week, the former Seville boss is looking to bolster his options.
The IF Elfsborg shot-stopper has impressed in recent seasons having originally joined the club in 1997 as a 16-year old, forcing his way into the international set-up.
The 27-year old admits that a move to White Harte Lane would be a tempting proposition, one that looks increasingly possible as Spurs investigate his availability.
"It's very enjoyable for me that they got in touch. I'm flattered,” Wiland told Boras Tidning.
"I'm under a long-term deal with Elfsborg and I'm not in a rush to depart. But if some serious approach comes I'll know all about it."
The player’s agent also confirmed that Ramos had registered an interest in his client, adding: “They contacted us and asked. They enquired about Johan's status at Elfsborg.”
Any move is likely to cost the Premiership side in excess of €2.5 million, with his current employers keen to hang on to the solid performer.
