Poulsen Ready For Gattuso Clash

New Juventus signing Christian Poulsen insists that he will have no problem about facing Gennaro Gattuso in tonight’s TIM Cup, despite the pair’s past differences.

Poulsen Ready For Gattuso Clash

The Bianconeri take part in the annual Trofeo Tim in Turin tonight, where they will play two 45 minute matches against Milan and Inter.

The game against the Rossoneri will see Poulsen pit his wits against Gattuso, a player he has had his differences with in the past.

During a Champions League League game between Milan and Schalke a few years ago, Poulsen was labelled a “coward” by Carlo Ancelotti for his rough man-marking of Kaka. During the return tie at San Siro, which Milan won 3-2, Gattuso angrily taunted and gloated in the face of Poulsen at the final whistle.

The Danish midfielder is something of an infamous figure in Italy, all dating back to his clash with Francesco Totti in the group game between Italy and Denmark at Euro 2004.

Following the match, television pictures showed Poulsen being spat on by Totti, who received a three-match ban and gave a "full public apology", while also claiming that he was provoked by Poulsen.

Despite these past problems, the 28-year-old insists that he has no problems meeting those who he has argued with in the past, and this includes Gattuso tonight.

"I do not have problems to meet players with whom he had disagreements,” Poulsen stated.

“I have respect for Gattuso as a player and man."

The first match in tonight’s Trofeo Tim will be Juventus against Milan.
