Adriano has played down Inter’s poor display in yesterday’s Trofeo TIM, and says that all the squad requires is a bit of time to get used to new coach Jose Mourinho.
The Nerazzurri finished last in last night’s annual three-way tournament in Turin, losing 1-0 to Juventus and going down on penalties to Milan following a goalless draw.
Employing Jose Mourinho’s trademark 4-3-3 formation, Inter struggled to interpret the new system, which has prompted the press to question whether the 4-3-3 is suitable in Italy.
Brazilian striker Amauri is not worried though, and says that in time everything will fall into place.
“We need more time,” said ‘The Emperor”.
“We have to work patiently to understand what the coach wants from us. You will soon see the difference in the play and in the results."
Adriano himself was delighted to be back involved in high-profile action, following his well documented personal problems that resulted in him spending the second half of last season on loan at Brazilian club Sao Paulo.
"In these recent days, I have worked hard with the will to be ready,” he explained.
“I am very happy to have scored the penalty. Tonight I had the possibility to play in attack because the opponents left us a lot of spaces in their defence.”
