Spurs To Sell Strikers To Finance Spending Spree?

In order to finance his summer spending in the transfer market, Tottenham boss Juande Ramos may need to offload last-season's first choice strike partnership...

Despite announcing that attacking duo Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov are not for sale, Tottenham are resigned to losing them. Manager Juande Ramos, however, is keen to make the most of the situation and, according to The Sun, he is counting on the money he would get from the sale of the two striker to complete his summer shopping.

The report in The Sun claims that Ramos would get to spend all the money generated from the sale of Keane and Berbatov - about £18 and £25 million respectively - on the transfer market. The same report claims that Ramos would buy attacking duo Pavlyuchenko and Milito and wingers Bentley and Capel.

Roman Pavlyuchenko would cost Tottenham about £15 million despite CSKA Moscow’s reluctance to sell their player to a club not competing in the Champions League. Diego Milito meanwhile could leave relegated Zaragoza for about £10 million.

David Bentley would cost £17 million despite being in the final year of his contract with Blackburn and 20-year old Sevilla winger Diego Capel would be worth at least £15 million.

Tottenham have already bought Croatian playmaker Luka Modric, PSV goalkeeper Gomes, Crystal Palace youngster John Bostock, and Barcelona wonderkid Giovani dos Santos. It is being reported that apart from Berbatov and Keane, Paul Robinson, defenders Chimbonda and Kaboul, midfielders Tainio and Malbranque and striker Bent are also set to leave White Hart Lane this summer.
