Brazilian striker Ronaldo won’t extend his Milan stay as he is close to joining Flamengo, the Brazilian club said on Sunday.
"We have a deal with the players’ agent," Flamengo president Marcio Braga was quoted as saying by Globoesporte newspaper.
"As soon as he has recovered from the injury, we will sit around a table and complete the paperwork."
Ronaldo's career with Milan was effectively over when the 31-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in February.
His deal with Milan expired following the end of the season and the Rossoneri did not offer him an extension.
