Inter Milan could be using reserve striker Adriano as a bait to convince Chelsea to sell Frank Lampard to Jose Mourinho's team.
Brazilian newspaper O Globo reported that Inter will offer the Blues ₤10M plus Adriano, who is poised to reunite with former Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Inter have been chasing Lampard since Mourinho arrived at San Siro, but Chelsea announced their unwillingness to sacrifice the England midfielder.
However, English media suggested on Saturday that Scolari is ready to help Lampard move, should the player seek leaving Stamford Bridge.
Brazil international Adriano spent most of last season on loan at Sao Paolo, as his relationship with ex-Inter boss Roberto Mancini was anything but cool.
