Juve Linked With Drenthe Move

Juventus are the latest Italian team to be linked to Real Madrid’s out-of-favour winger Royston Drenthe.

Juve Linked With Drenthe Move

Drenthe, who can play at full-back or on the wing, only signed for the Spanish giants last year for €14m from Feyenoord.

Despite scoring a brilliant goal on his debut against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup, the Whoopi Goldberg look-alike has found first-team action hard to come by, and he was largely used as a substitute last campaign.

Brazilian youngster Marcelo, and the Argentine Gabriel Heinze have emerged as the preferred left-back options, and Drenthe has been heavily tipped to move away from Madrid this summer, possibly on a loan deal.

Drenthe has been heavily linked with a transfer to Italy, with Fiorentina said to be particularly interested.

"Drenthe could come to Italy," said FIFA Super Agent Ernesto Bronzetti.

"There are a number of clubs interested in him and one of these is Fiorentina, who already asked about him in January. Madrid could decide to give him away on loan."

The Italian press claims that Juventus, despite announcing that they will be buying no more players this summer, are also considering a loan swoop for the Dutch Under-21 star.
