Italian national team coach Pierluigi Casiraghi has been dealt a huge blow as Tommaso Rocchi has picked up a serious injury which will rule him out of the remainder of the Olympics tournament.

Casiraghi’s plans have been foiled as Rocchi will have to miss the remainder of his side's participation in the Olympic games following an injury which saw him pack his bags for a return to Italy in the coming days.

This means that the Italian national coach will have to rely on Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca in attack as they face Cameroon tomorrow in the final group game prior to the quarter finals.

The Azzurrini have already qualified for the last eight, but this injury dents their chances of winning the gold medal.

It is not yet known the time the Lazio forward will have to remain away from the playing field, but from the first tests it seems that this is quite a serious injury.
